“Falling Light”

Original 11 x 14” Oil on Canvas

Scenes like this seem to define the Pacific Northwest, the roar of water calling to you from amid an otherwise quiet forest. Dense trees and ferns sheltering the view until you’re almost on top of it. The gloom and drizzle of light rain is immaterial in the face of such beauty, which welcomes us to stay a while and feel refreshed.

Canvas Size: Horizontal 11 x 14 inch canvas. 7/8” deep with lovingly finished sides.

Completed: 2023

Materials: Original oil painting on cotton canvas with satin varnish, finished with a lovely maple floater frame and ready to hang.

From the Artist

Places like this are the reason I call the Pacific Northwest home. Hiking into old, dense woods, hearing the falls long before you reach them, and then to finally be rewarded with the sight…well, as one friend put it: “it’s a vibe”. There’s a way of life here, of exploring hidden places, of adventure, that this girl from the Midwest was entirely captivated by. It’s unlike any other place I’ve lived, and I’m in love.
