“Overcome”

Some memories stir mixed emotions: being completely overcome by the beauty of a place, while understanding the hardships you had to face to reach that point. “Overcome” represents that conflict of recognizing a moment of beauty in the face of adversity, and serves as a reminder of all that you can overcome.

From the ArtistAs you may have guessed, this location represents mixed emotions for me. The sheer beauty of Yosemite is unreal, and unlike anything I had seen before. That said, we had to overcome quite a few hardships, including a broken ankle, to bring this memory home. So to everyone else facing hardship, I offer this painting: there will be beauty, there will be challenges, but you can overcome more than you think.
